ER GM holds high-level meeting on accident

Kolkata: Harindra Rao, general manager, Eastern Railway on Monday held a high-level meeting with the principal heads of the departments, divisional railway managers of all four divisions and chief workshop managers on safety in view of the recent accident that took place in Northern Railway jurisdiction.
Rao instructed all the DRMs and principal heads of the departments to ensure safety in workplace. He reviewed the safety performance and safety measures undertaken by each division and made it clear to all concerned that at the present scenario safety is the top most priority of the railways where no compromise will be tolerated at any level.
He said that in the recent accident, action had been taken against Board Member, General Manager, DRM and below officers and staff. He advised to strictly follow all safety rules/norms provided and act as per safety manuals.
He instructed all Principal Heads of the Departments, Head of the Departments at Headquarters, DRM, ADRM, branch officers at Divisions, CWMs at Workshops to move out of their offices and spend time on the field to ensure all safety measures, precautions are being observed in totality. The concerned officers and staff those who are directly responsible for safety operations should ensure all safety measures, actions taken so far as the safety is concerned.
