ER GM awards 2 employees for work to ensure safety

Kolkata: Eastern Railway general manager Harindra Rao honoured two employees with Safety Award, in recognition of their diligent work towards ensuring safety in train operations.

Rao also held a high level meeting on safety and punctuality at ER Headquarters on Wednesday.

The first of the awardees, technician Sohrab Mohammad of Sealdah Division, while performing duty on April 12, had detected a major defect in a coach of 13105 Up Sealdah-Ballia Express. He had promptly attended to the issue and replaced the faulty component of the coach. His sincerity and alertness had helped in avoiding any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, the other awardee Jagai Chand Halder, technician, Sealdah Division, during his scheduled checking on April 13, marked damage in a coach of 13149 Up Kanchan Kanya Express. He took prompt action, by replacing the damaged component of the coach. His devotion and sincere work had helped in avoiding any mishaps.
