Eastern Rly GM takes up cleanliness drive

Kolkata: A massive cleanliness drive was undertaken by Eastern Railway at Howrah station on Monday where Harindra Rao, General Manager, administered oath to Railway staff, officers and passengers present on the occasion on cleanliness.
Addressing the passengers, railway officers and staff, Rao said working together, cleanliness can be achieved in totality. He urged the passengers to throw litter in dustbins, use toilets at station premises and requested not to spit at platforms, in trains and station premises. Rao urged upon the entire Eastern Railway staff and officers to put on their best efforts by rendering 'Shramdan' (voluntary service) at least 100 hours per year and two hours per week for keeping own house, neighbouring areas, office premises and railway complexes neat and clean.
A large number of passengers also participated in this cleanliness drive. Anand Prakash, additional General Manager, Ravindra Gupta, CME, Manu Goel, Divisional Railway Manager, Howrah along with other principal heads of departments, divisional officers participated in the cleanliness drive.
In Sealdah station, Basudev Panda, Divisional Railway Manager along with all officers and staff of Sealdah Division and passengers also took part in the cleanliness drive.
