East Burdwan woman accuses police officer of molestation

Kolkata: A woman from Ketugram in East Burdwan accused a police officer of molesting her when she was alone in her house during Pujas.

She also alleged that Ketugram police station refused to register a complaint in this regard. The woman, a resident of Gurpara village in Ketugram, had been living in her house alone for the past five months after her husband joined a private company in Chennai.

It was alleged that the accused policeman has been teasing the woman for quite sometimes. Recently, he had given some indecent proposals to the woman.

As she refused to entertain the accused, he allegedly threatened her of dire consequences.

The accused lives in the same village with the victim.

The victim alleged that the accused molested her on the day of Dashami. After the victim's in-laws came to know about the matter they went to the house of the accused.

His family members allegedly heckled the woman's in-laws.

Then the victim went to the local police station but failed to register a complaint. After having found no option the victim and her family members sought the intervention of a local court.
