Drunken youths 'harass' television actor
Kolkata: A television actor was allegedly harassed and threatened by goons late on Thursday night in Panchasayar. Actor Jeetu Kamal alleged that the accused persons were in inebriated condition and driving recklessly. They rammed into his car and fled, he said.
According to Kamal, late on Thursday night, he was driving towards Bypass after completion of a shooting in Panchasayar. He alleged that when he was driving towards Eastern Metropolitan (EM) Bypass suddenly a black SUV came from behind and rammed into his car.
Kamal uploaded a video where it was seen that the accused driver was fleeing the spot and using abusive language.
When Kamal followed him, the driver stopped the car after a few hundred metres. It was seen in the video that when Kamal questioned the accused driver, the person sitting in the front seat beside the driver said Kamal was lying.
The actor alleged that both of them were in drunken condition. Following the incident, Kamal reportedly called up the police control room.
He got several calls from multiple police station as cops wanted to know the location as per his claim. After almost half-an-hour some policemen arrived at the spot and lodged Kamal's complaint as Motor Collission Report.
Later, police officers initiated a FIR after reaching
police station on charges of rash-driving and violation of condition of remission of punishment at the Panchasayar police station. On Friday morning, the police identified the SUV and seized the car. According to senior police officials, probe is on to find out what exactly happened on Thursday night.
