Doctors remove 1,115 gall stones from patient

Kolkata: In a critical surgery, the doctors of Deben Mahato Sadar Hospital in Purulia have removed as many as 1115 stones from the gall bladder and bile ducts of a 70-year-old man, giving him a fresh lease of life.
The victim, Mani Kumar a resident of Chitang area under Purulia police station had been complaining of serious abdominal pain for quite a long time. As the elderly man continued to complain about unbearable pain, the family members admitted him to Deben Mahato Sadar Hospital a few days ago. After various clinical tests, the doctors detected some stones in his gall bladder. The doctors could not imagine that there could that many stones in his abdomen.
The doctors at the hospital decided to perform a surgery. On Friday, a team of doctors successfully operated the patient and removed all the stones. The doctors who carried out the surgery were surprised to see so many stones inside his body. According to the hospital sources, a total of 1113 stones were removed from his gall bladder and two from the bile duct.
