Destination China!

KOLKATA: 'EXPO 2018 – Higher Education in China' organised by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in association with the School of Chinese Language in Kolkata held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre witnessed the participation of 60 Chinese universities from eleven provinces and municipalities of China.
Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, spoke about how the organisation has been providing education, accommodation, food and healthcare to 50,000 underprivileged children over the last 26 years and evolved to become the first exclusive tribal university in the world. He also proudly mentioned about the Consul General of China who visited the institute. Dr RS Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary, said the participation of 60 Chinese universities in an educational expo has been the first of its kind and it shows the transformation of higher education scenario in Bengal.
Debashis Sen, Chairman of HIDCO and Additional Secretary of IT, has expressed his wish that Asia should become the centre of gravity of technology. "Over the years, China has developed drastically in terms of specialised technical education. Students from across the world nowadays believe in 'Destination China.' I wish Expo 2018 a grand success," Satyam Roychowdhury, MD of Techno India Group and Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University said.
