Decision on Maynaguri headmaster next week

Kolkata: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) will declare its decision next week on whether any steps will be taken against headmaster Haridayal Roy of Maynaguri Subhasnagar High School in Jalpaiguri.
Roy had allegedly opened the sealed cover of question papers of Madhyamik at least an hour before the start of the examination.
Eight officials involved in the process of conducting examination including Roy, the venue supervisor, the additional venue supervisor were among those who were present at the hearing that was held at the office of
WBBSE on Friday.
"We have had a marathon hearing that spanned for five hours. We have recorded the statements of all those who appeared at the hearing and we are happy to announce that we are satisfied with the entire hearing process. No one needs to be questioned further. We will examine the statements of all and will announce our final decision next week," Kalyanmoy Ganguly, president of WBBSE said.
Ganguly, however, refused to share anything about the outcome of the hearing. "We are in the process of an enquiry and at this juncture we cannot share anything about the deliberations.
The result will be announced sometime in the next week and you will be intimidated," the Board president told reporters adding that if found guilty then punishment will be meted out as per rules of WBBSE for such acts.
Ganguly, however, ruled out the possibility of cancellation of question papers and any reexamination.
Roy had allegedly opened the question set before time and had made question papers of more than one subject available to the first boy of the school before the start of examination.
