CM flying to Delhi today to spearhead Oppn conclave

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee will go to Delhi on Monday to attend the meeting of Opposition parties, that is going to be held on March 27 and 28. The Chief Minister will fly to Delhi after attending a programme in South 24-Parganas on Monday afternoon. There will be meetings in Delhi, in which anti-BJP parties will discuss the strategy of national politics, with a focus on the general elections in 2019.
National Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel had visited the state secretariat, Nabanna, on March 9 and held a meeting with Banerjee in this regard. Patel had said that Banerjee had assured her presence in the meeting, that was called by his party chief Sharad Pawar and in which several other anti-BJP parties will also be present.
Banerjee's Delhi visit has turned to be crucial, as she already had a meeting with K Chandrasekhar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana and Telangana Rashtra Samiti president. Both had agreed on the need for a "federal front" to uproot BJP from the Centre. Banerjee has also extended her support to BSP supremo Mayawati on Saturday,
over the latter's statement on BJP's "design" to create a rift between her party and SP.
