Cleanliness drive on court premises in Balurghat

BALURGHAT: A group affiliated to District Legal Services Authority of South Dinajpur conducted a special cleanliness drive at Balurghat court on Wednesday.

The group members cleaned the court area, a few yards away from the district administrative building, creating awareness among local residents.

Around 80 participants took part in the programme. As a part of the cleanliness drive, they cleaned the area in front of the sweepers.

Using brooms they dusted the court corridor and picked up wrappers lying around.

After collecting them, they threw the waste into dustbins. After the cleanliness drive

was over, a talk aimed to create awareness on solid waste liquid management was also held.

Many local residents assembled and applauded them for organising the programme.

Secretary of DLSA Kusumika Dey Mitra said: "The chief aim of this programme was to create

awareness among people regarding cleanliness and its benefits. It was a unique experience for all of us. We were curious to be the part of this great drive that could have transformed the face of our country forever."
