Class VI student dies of dengue

Kolkata: A Class VI student and a resident of Chetla in South Kolkata died of dengue on Wednesday. The deceased Pritam Halder (11) was admitted at Chittaranjan Seva Sadan in Bhowanipore on October 23. The death certificate of the boy mentions that he died of "Dengue NS1 Antigen Reactive".
A resident of ward 82 of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), the boy was diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease last Wednesday. However, his condition deteriorated when he started suffering from high fever from Monday. Following this he was admitted at the hospital. Another death was reported from Nagerbazar in the northern fringesof the city.
An elderly person Aditya Prasad Bagchi of Nepalbagan in Nagerbazar allegedly died of dengue, though his death certificate does not attribute hemorrhagic dengue as the reason behind the death.
