Class VI boy thrashed for talking in class

Kolkata: A Class VI boy from a school in Hooghly's Serampore was badly beaten up by a teacher inside the school as he was talking to his classmates during class.
The victim fell ill and had to be admitted to Serampore Walsh Hospital after he received injuries on his head and leg as a result of the thrashing. The doctors who treated the boy said that he has been traumatised since the incident had taken place.
The victim told his family members that he did not want to go to school after the way he had been insulted and beaten up by the history teacher of the school.
The victim has also alleged that the accused teacher had beaten him up with a water pipe. The family members of the victim lodged a complaint at the local police station against the accused.
Police have started a probe in this regard. The guardians said that they are now scared to send their child to the school after Wednesday's incident.
The investigators are interrogating the accused teacher in this connection.
The family members of the boy demanded strong action against the accused who had beaten the boy up.
The victim was talking to some of his friends during the class which attracted the ire of the teacher.
The accused teacher beat the boy with a water pipe in which he suffered multiple injuries on his head and leg.
It may be mentioned that a Class XI girl from a school in Tarakeswar in the same district was beaten up by a teacher a few days ago. When the victim ran away from the place and took refuge in the toilet, the accused allegedly went to the toilet and beat her up there.
