Chief Secy holds meeting over projects funded by Centre

Kolkata: The state government departments that are implementing different Central-funded schemes have been directed to ensure timely completion of projects.
Malay De, the state Chief Secretary, held a high level meeting with top brass of all the concerned departments at Nabanna on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned that the Centre slashed its share of fund for different projects. But considering that it will leave an adverse affect on common people, the state government provided extra fund and didn't let the projects come to a standstill. In such a situation, the state government wants to utilise whatever fund it is getting from the Centre. Sources in the state secretariat said that the senior officials of the departments have been directed to take steps so that the fund does not remain unutilised. They have also been asked to take necessary moves so that not even a minimum share of the allotted fund goes back unutilised. It has also been directed that utilisation certificate of allotted fund is given at a proper time so that it doesn't create any problem in getting fund in the next financial year. The top brass of all the concerned departments have discussed the issues related to the implementation of the projects for which the Centre provides as share of the total project cost.
In Tuesday's meeting there was also discussion on the completion or implementation rate of the projects. There were discussions whether there is any need to expedite the process of implementing the projects to ensure timely completion of the same. Moreover, a stock has been taken over the execution of the projects in the grassroot level. It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister had given direction to complete most of the ongoing projects mainly in the rural parts of the state by the end of this year.
