CESC's safety workshop about electrical hazards

Kolkata: An Electrical Safety Workshop was organised by CESC, in collaboration with Allahabad Bank, to spread awareness about how electrical hazards can be prevented, particularly in bank premises.
Electricity hazards are a major concern for citizens and the safety workshops are CESC's response to promote awareness regarding the issue, which can be prevented with proper care and constant sharing of experiences.
Earlier this week, the CESC had collaborated with another public sector bank, UBI, to launch the Electrical Safety Workshop.
The workshop was conducted at Allahabad Bank's head office at NS Road.
Over 50 participants attended it. Avijit Pande (Divisional Officer, West Bengal Fire and Emergency
Services) and Sovon Dalai (Electrical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University) were present at the workshop.
Earlier, Alok Tarafdar, general manager of Allahabad Bank, expressed the urgency to pro-actively work towards
creating a safe work environment.
Avijit Ghosh, vice-president, CESC Distribution Services, welcomed the participants and discussed the importance of responsibly utilising electricity as it is one of the greatest scientific discoveries of mankind.
The workshop also saw participants engaging in a quiz based on safety.
Ghosh said: "We are extremely happy with the response. We are looking forward to conducting more safety workshops to spread awareness among citizens."
