CBI conducts high-level talks over investigation of chit fund scams

Kolkata: A high-level meeting of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was held at the CGO Complex in Salt Lake over different aspects of the investigations into chit fund cases on Wednesday.

Sources said a team comprising six senior CBI officers from Delhi came to the city and they held a meeting with the team of officers who were undergoing the probe at present.

It is learnt that the issues related to the investigation of the Saradha Group scam had cropped up into the meeting.

It may be recalled that the CBI had taken over the investigation related to Saradha Group and other chit fund related scams following the order of the Supreme Court.

Several people including influential ones were arrested in this connection.

Charge sheets and supplementary charge sheets were also filed before the court in connection with all the cases of the Saradha Group.

But the central investigating agency is yet to conclude the probe of the Saradha Group.

It is learnt that a course of action to move ahead has also been chalked out in the meeting held on Wednesday.
