Calcutta National Medical College boy dies after fall

Kolkata: A second-year student of Calcutta National Medical College died after allegedly falling down from the building's terrace, police said on
Friday.
Somak Chowdhury, a second-year student of general surgery at Calcutta National Medical College, fell from the terrace of the emergency ward building at around 10 pm on Thursday, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
As per preliminary post-mortem report, it was found that the student was not in an inebriated state as reported earlier. He had slipped and lost his balance.
A letter has been recovered from the student's pocket, police said.
"We have spoken to his friends, fellow students, the professors and found that Chowdhury was quite a jolly person.
We are probing into the matter," the police officer added.
