Café Ekante comes up with Jamai Shashti special menu

Kolkata: Café Ekante will come up with mouth watering delicacies on June 8 and 9 keeping up with the traditions of Jamai Shashti, a day to treat the son-in-laws with delicious Bengali food cooked with love and care.

The special buffet lunch and dinner at the restaurant will have green salad, pyara kasundi and dahi vada with the main course veg items including sukto, bhaja mog dal, bhaja maslar aloo dam, echor kalia and doi potol.

The main course for non-veg dishes will have katla korma, pabda macher jhal, Kanchalanka murgi and kochi pathar jhol.

Café Ekante in New Town is a popular destination for foodies. The name of the restaurant was given by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation maintains it. The staffs of Café Ekante have been given special training to offer hospitality to the guests. The guests, who come in the evening for dinner, can enjoy the world cup cricket matches on big television screens along with the food. The restaurant is offering special dishes to celebrate the world cup cricket under the banner "Crick- eat". The waiters have put on the jerseys of the participating teams to boost the spirits of sports enthusiasts. The welcome drink such as aam pora pudina shorbat is offered to the guests. They can also treat on begun bhaja, misti kumro bhaja, potol bhaja, aloo pyizkoli bhaja and jhur jhur aloo bhaja. There is shak bhaja of various types that include kochu shak chingri diya and posto badam diya lal shak bhaja.

There will be ghee bhat, mochar pulao and luchi. The chutney will be of anaras, aam and khejur aamsatta. The desserts will include rosogolla, gulab jamun, ice cream, payesh and freshly cut fruits such as mango, jackfruits, lychee, watermelon and pineapple.

The popularity of café Ekante has reached such heights that on Saturdays and Sundays prior booking is required. It is a constant struggle for HIDCO to keep the restaurant upgraded. The quality of food is excellent and the best cooking medium is used. The restaurant is decorated tastefully and lights that are soothing to the eyes have been installed to enhance the ambience.
