Businessman rescued within hours of abduction, two held

Kolkata: Police have rescued a South 24-Parganas based businessman, a few hours after he was abducted from Kasba area on late Friday evening. Two persons have been arrested so far in connection with the incident.

The victim, Marfat Ali Seikh, a resident of South 24-Parganas' Joyanagar came to the area to buy some leather products from a shop. The victim used to sell these items in his shop at his native place.

The family members of the victim on Friday night lodged a complaint at the police station stating that he was abducted while returning home. The family members received a phone call demanding a ransom of Rs 2 lakh. Police started a probe and rescued the victim from Tangra area. Police are conducting a probe.
