Bus carrying TMC supporters overturn, 35 injured

Kolkata: At least 35 Trinamool Congress workers who were going to attend Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's rally in Murshidabad were injured after the bus they were travelling in overturned near Nayagram on Wednesday morning.
The bus was carrying Trinammol Congress supporters from Mayagram to Jhargram. The locals told police that the bus driver was over-speeding when the accident took place. When the bus came near Murarada Road, the driver lost control over the vehicle which eventually overturned.
The local residents rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation. All the injured persons were rushed to the Nayagram super-specialty hospital where some of them are undergoing treatment while the others were let off after primary treatment. Many were undergoing treatment with broken limbs.
Twenty people were injured in a separate accident that took place near NTPC More of Farakka in Murshidabad on Wednesday. The victims were all travelling in a bus that rammed into a dumper from behind which was parked by the side of the road.
Police said that the private bus was carrying passengers to Balurghat from Kolkata. When it was crossing NTPC More area, a Toto (E-rickshaw)
suddenly came on its way prompting the driver to apply a sudden brake.
As a result of this, the bus driver lost control over the vehicle and it hit a dumper from behind. Around 20 passengers received injuries some of them critically in the accident.
