Boy electrocuted inside under-construction building

Kolkata: Tension ran high in Howrah's Shibpur on Wednesday afternoon after a boy was electrocuted to death inside an under construction building. Another boy suffered critical injuries in today's accident.

Local residents accused the developers of the under-construction building for the incident. They staged protest demonstration in the area to protest against the incident.

The local people alleged that the victim, identified as Raju Das, who was a local resident, was playing on ground floor of the building when he came in contact with a iron rod, which was tied with an

electrical wire.

When he touched the iron rod, the victim was thrown few metres away.

The local residents rushed to the spot and admitted the victim to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Another boy was injured in the incident but his condition is stated to be stable.

The local residents staged demonstration at the spot and demanded the arrest of the developers of the building. They brought the charges of negligence against the developer.

Police later reached the spot and brought the situation under control. A detailed probe has been initiated in this regard. The accused promoter is at large since the incident took place.
