Blue Whale: Awareness campaign in Barasat

Kolkata: With the reports of more number of school children from various parts of North 24 Parganas being engrossed in deadly online game Blue Whale, the Krishi Karigori Employees Association at Barasat on Thursday organised an awareness campaign.
The organisation which is an amalgamation of the various government departments organised the programme to make the people, especially the school children aware so that they do not indulge in this type of deadly games.
Manas Saha, a representative of the association said: "With growing tension over the Blue Whale game, we felt the need to conduct an awareness campaign involving the school children."
"Incidentally, it may be mentioned that many school children were found playing the deadly game.
Their lives could be saved as they were detected at the early stages of the game. Awareness campaigns should be carried out at various schools to check such incidents."
The organization also distributed prizes among various students who performed exceedingly well in their respective fields.
It may be mentioned here that tension ran high at Asutoshpally Satadal Sikshaniketan on Thursday after a Class IX student Joy Choudhury cut his hand with blade.
There was a rumour going on among the students that Joy was trying to carve a blue whale on his hand.
Senior police officers rushed to the school and started a probe in
this regard.
