BJP MLA suspended for remainder of House session

Kolkata: Dulal Bar, a BJP MLA from North 24-Parganas' Bagda has been suspended

on Tuesday for the rest of the current session of the Assembly.

Nirmal Ghosh, the chief whip of the government urged the Speaker Biman Banerjee to take some steps against Bar for vitiating the atmosphere of the Assembly.

The Speaker took objection of the matter and suspended Bar for the rest of the Assembly session.

The Speaker also felt that Bar was destroying the peaceful environment of the

House. Bar will not be able to attend the rest of the session in the Assembly.

Bar wanted to attract the attention of the government to an incident in which a woman was raped in front of her five -year-old girl in Basanti.

He also alleged that state government has taken no steps so far to arrest the accused in the incident.

The BJP MLAs staged a protest demonstration inside the House.BJP MLA from North 24-Parganas' Bagda was suspended for a day on last Monday after he started protesting against the alleged attack on BJP MLA from Bongaon.
