BJP can't win by creating fear psychosis among voters: Abhishek

Rajgunj: Taking a dig at the saffron party, Trinamool Youth Congress president Abhishek Banerjee said they cannot win elections by creating fear psychosis among the voters, at a meeting here on Friday.

"BJP is trying to terrorise people to win elections. They are trying to induce fear psychosis among the

voters. But this will not help them to

win the election. On May 23, the party will be ousted from Delhi," Banerjee said.

He said BJP is such a heinous political party that it is taking the credit for Indian Army's achievements. "As BJP has not carried out any development work in the country, Narendra Modi is taking the credit for Indian Army's bravery. It is really shameful," he said, adding: "Nowhere in the history

will you find such an arrogant Prime Minister, who speaks only lies."

He said BJP leaders are coming to the state to create confusion among the people and alleged that the party hates Bengal. "Though the Bengal Assembly had unanimously cleared the change of name of the state, the Centre is yet to give clearance. The BJP leaders do not know the language and are ignorant about the state's rich culture and heritage as well," Banerjee said.

He urged people to cast their votes in favour of the Trinamool candidate. "Throughout the year you will find our workers by your side, but the BJP leaders are like seasonal birds and they can never be traced after the election gets over," he said.

Banerjee said in the past seven years, there has been all round development in Bengal. Two Utkarsh Bangla and Sabuj Sathi projects have bagged international awards. "Various schemes taken up by Mamata Banerjee have helped people coming from all cross-sections of society. Kanyashree has helped the girl students pursue higher education. There are more schemes like Yubashree, Rupashree and Swastha Sathi, among others," he added.

While unemployment has reached an all-time high in the country, the Bengal government has drastically brought down unemployment, creating job opportunities for unemployed youths, he stated.

He said the country needs a stable secular government at the Centre to carry out sustainable development throughout the country and urged the voters to give their mandate in favour of the Trinamool nominee.

"By casting your vote in favour of the Trinamool candidate, you are actually strengthening the hands of Mamata Banerjee," he said, urging people to go to the polling stations on April 18 and cast their votes in the morning.
