Bills to set up two varsities likely to be tabled in Assembly soon

Kolkata: The Bills to set up the state's first Hindi University and a private university in the name of Swami Vivekananda is likely to be tabled in the ongoing Assembly monsoon session that started on Monday. The Hindi university will come up at Arupara in Howrah and will offer courses on various subjects at the undergraduate level. Students from mediums other than Hindi can also secure admission in the university. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee had laid the foundation stone of the varsity on March 6 at a programme in Howrah, where she announced a host of projects.
