Bengal Govt introduces courses on agriculture sector

Kolkata: Widening the options for job-oriented skill development training, the West Bengal Government has introduced vocational training courses on different aspects of agriculture, like soil testing and other things.
It will be immensely helpful for youths in the state, as it will create job opportunities for them and they can earn their livelihood by becoming self-dependent.
It may be mentioned that Bengal has witnessed a huge improvement in the agriculture sector during the past six years, a notable result of which is the doubling of the annual income of farmers. The state government has won the Central Government's Krishi Karman Award for six consecutive years for development in different sectors of agriculture.
At present, 12 experts from the agriculture sector have been engaged and they are providing the training at certain centres.
All necessary infrastructure has been set up to ensure that updated training can be provided to the youths in the state.
It may be mentioned that at present, there are 2,700 vocational training centres (VTC) in the state and steps have been taken to upgrade 700 VTCs to Advanced VTCs.
