B'deshi national held with fake voter's ID card

Kolkata: Police arrested one Bangladeshi national from Kolkata Airport on charges of fraudulently obtaining voter identity card.
Police said the 44-year-old man, Ritu Das, is a resident of Chittagong in Bangladesh. He was arrested following an interrogation when he went to the immigration counter at the airport.
Police said he reached Kolkata Airport by a flight on Wednesday and an immigration officer suspected him while he was speaking to him.
Based on the suspicion, the immigration officer took the Bangladeshi national to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose
International Airport Police Station, where the police arrested him.
Police are trying to find out the exact reason behind the person's visit to India and that too with a voter identity card which he had allegedly obtained by
fraudulent means.
Cops are also trying to find out that how the man had managed to get hold of the voter's identity card.
Sources said the immigration officer told the police that he came to know while interacting with the person that he was married to one Mukta Das, who also claimed herself to be an Indian.
