Balurghat: Ahead of Bolla Kali Puja, Superintendent of Police Debarshi Dutta reviewed the security arrangements on the temple premises and its adjoining areas on

Saturday afternoon.

"We have conducted a spot visit on Saturday to check the security arrangements. No devotee or visitor will be allowed to enter the temple premises due to the pandemic. No fair will be organised for the same reason," Dutta said.

The officer was accompanied by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Balurghat Headquarter) Dhiman Mitra and Inspector-in-Charge of Balurghat police station, Goutam Roy.

Bolla Kali puja is held at Bolla. This year, it is scheduled to be held from December 4 to 7.

In a recent administrative meeting, it was decided that all rituals including the immersion will be conducted by 200 Puja committee members.

"Proper policing arrangements including two-tier barricading and deployment as per norms will be made in due course of time. The committee will deploy an adequate number of volunteers to assist the police, an official said.

He added: "The Health administration will set up a proper medical camp and conduct sanitisation of the temple complex as per norms."

The puja committee will also arrange for sufficient masks and sanitisers for their members entering the temple

complex.
