Aunt kills 11-year-old to keep illicit relationship under wraps

Kolkata: An 11-year-old girl, who allegedly came to know about her aunt's illicit relationship, was murdered by her aunt at Baruipur in South 24-Parganas on Sunday.

According to sources, the deceased, identified as Rinki Naskar, (11) used to live at her maternal uncle's house at South Durgapur in Baruipur to pursue her education. The child belongs to Mograhat.

On Sunday, Rinki was found dead near her maternal uncle's house. During the investigation, sleuths came to know from a source that the accused woman, Shipra Naskar, was divorcee and at present in a relationship with a youth.

Police officers suspected that the woman could be involved in the murder of the 11-year-old after she gave her statement to the cops.

During questioning, sleuths had found several ambiguities in Shipra's statements. After a prolonged interrogation, Shipra admitted that she killed Rinki. She said she had an illicit affair with a youth of her locality and she use to frequently visit his house.

A few days ago, Rinki visited the youth's house at a time when she was already there. The 11-year-old girl reportedly saw them in an intimate posture. Shipra also spotted Rinki at the youth's house and understood that the girl had come to know about her relationship.

Shipra asked Rinki not to tell anyone what see saw at the youth's house. On Sunday, when the deceased girl told Shipra that she would tell other family members about her illicit relationship, Shipra allegedly killed her.

Cops suspect that the 11-year-old girl was strangled to death.

However, reports are awaited to ascertain the exact cause of death. Sleuths are checking if more persons are involved in the murder.
