Asansol station revamped for better passenger comfort

Kolkata: Eastern Railway's Asansol Division made an all out effort for better passenger comfort by providing more amenities to the passengers. The renovation and beautification work includes more space for car parking, auto rickshaw stand in the station circulating area for easy movement of passengers, provision of more greenery for conservation of environment vis-Ã -vis aesthetics of the station premises, LED illumination in the station area for energy saving as well as more luminosity, modern CCTV cameras for better safety & security of the
passengers etc.
A new pickup & drop zone of 6,200 sqft has been developed. Apart from that, 5,800 sqft area has been developed as green car parking zone, suitable space of 2,000 sqft and 600 sqft have been developed for auto and rickshaw stand respectively in the Asansol station circulating area.
Besides the main entrance, 1,800 sqft parking zone has been developed for Divyang persons to facilitate their easy access to the station.
Retro-reflective boards have been placed at convenient locations for the benefit of passengers so that they won't have to ask anyone for direction.
Walls of station boundary have been beautified with colourful paintings.
