Articles of clothing by Liluah Girls' Home inmates to be available soon

Kolkata: Articles of clothing made by inmates of Liluah Girls' Home are soon going to be available for buying, and with time, are going to be exported too.

They are going to be sold under the brand name of 'Bangali', a name coined by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself.
The hostel is home to girls rescued from various places. They are given a stable life in the home, and given education and taught various things to make them self-sufficient in the future.
Under the initiative taken by the State Women and Social Welfare Department and the West Bengal State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, internationally-renowned fashion designer of Bangladesh Bibi Russell was appointed to train the girl children.
They were given an eight-month-long training, whose wonderful results would soon be partaken by all and sundry.
The formal inauguration of Brand Bangali would take place on March 8, which is celebrated the world over as International Women's Day.
As of now, the clothes are available at the Biswa Bangla stores. The money earned is given to the women who had made the clothes.
