Arms dealer held

Kolkata: Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police police nabbed an arms dealer and seized five semi-automatic country-made pistols from his on Friday.

According to STF, on Friday morning, officials learnt that an arms dealer from South Dinajpur was coming Kolkata in a bus. A STF team was sent near the approach road of Vidyasagar Setu. Around 1:10 pm, police spotted the bus and followed. After the bus reached near Friend Sporting Union on Mayo Road, it stopped and the suspect identified as Khairul Alam deboarded the bus with a bag. When he was crossing the road, STF personnel surrounded him. He was detained and taken to Lalbazar. Police found five country-made pistols with magazines and five extra magazines from the bag. He was arrested and will be produced at the Bankshall Court on Saturday. The police are interrogating him to get the details of the receiver of the pistols.
