Arms dealer arrested

Kolkata: Acting on specific source information, the police kept a strict vigil in the vicinity of Sonagachi area under Burtolla police station and arrested one Susanta Dutta alias Lalu, an arms dealer.
The police also recovered a huge cache of arms from him.
Lalu is a resident of Anandamath in Ichapore, Noapara, North 24 Parganas. He was arrested from the crossing of Abinash Kabiraj Street and Durga Charan Mitra Street.
A 9mm Pistol, a 7mm Pistol, 30 rounds of 9mm cartridges and 15 rounds of 7mm cartridges were recovered "Susanta had been there for the purpose of selling the seized arms and ammunitions to unknown miscreants who fled the spot sensing trouble," Joint commissioner of police (crime) Vishal Garg said.
