Amitabh Bachchan's car mishap: Govt seeks explanation from hotel

Kolkata: The state government has sought explanation from the five star hotel in the city for the incident on Saturday morning in which a wheel of Amitabh Bachchan's car came off the axle.
The accident took place when he was heading towards the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport from the hotel.
He came to the city to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival which was held on November 10.
Subrata Mukherjee, the state Panchayat minister, was accompanying him up to the airport and he was also in the same car and both had a narrow escape from a major accident. Amitabh Bachchan went to the airport in the car of Mukherjee that was a part of the convoy and reached the airport right on time.
According to the sources in the state secretariat, a letter has been sent to the hotel authorities seeking explanation for the incident.
Mukherjee said that both
hotel authorities and the agencies that provide cars to them have to be more cautious and responsible as the incident could have become something major.
It may be mentioned that the police are also looking into all the aspects of the incident and have started collecting all necessary information to ascertain the exact cause behind the accident.
