Amit Shah asks party workers to strengthen base

Kolkata: Amit Shah, BJP national president on Wednesday urged party workers to increase the organisational base of the party and build contact with people.
The organisational election upto the block level will be completed by December. Party insiders said that Shah had urged the party leaders and workers to gear up for the Panchayat polls and 2019 Lok Sabha polls. He met the district presidents and secretaries and took report from them.
Meanwhile, Shibprakash, one of the core committee members of Amit Shah's team admitted that fight in Bengal will not be an easy one. Talking to press he admitted that the party is yet to get over with organisational weaknesses. It has also failed to create a bigger impact in the minds of people. The party needs at least five trained workers for every booth for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. There are 77, 421 polling stations in Bengal and so the party needs at least five workers per booth which will come to 3,87,105 workers.
It was learnt that Shah had expressed displeasure over the lackadaisical attitude of some leaders and workers. He has urged the state leaders to rope in more youth to the party and highlight the failure of the state government in every sphere before people.
