Adult movie making racket busted, 2 held

Kolkata: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has busted a racket that had been using minors and also women for making pornographic movies.

The investigators have arrested two persons who were involved in running the racket. The police were looking after the other accused who were also a part of the racket.

Police had earlier unearthed many flesh trade and pornography rackets from various parts of the state in the past, but this is the first time the CID has busted a gang which was exploiting minors.

The arrested persons were identified as Sheikh Hidayet Ali and Harekrishna Dhali.

Police came to know that the accused used to lure the young girls with fake promises of giving them an opportunity in Tollywood movies. Apart from minors, there were also women who were engaged in the job.

Police said that the two accused and others used to trap minors in a pornography racket by alluring them with promises of giving them chance on the silver screen. According to police, Ali posed as a master stuntman from Tollywood while Dhali claimed to be a fashion photographer and choreographer.

They used to tell the minors that they knew top directors and producers and could give them opportunities for working in films. They used to tell them for getting jobs in films they have to pose nude for photo-shoots.

After shooting the videos, the accused used to circulate them against money.

Police have carried out raids at various parts of the city and seized many such videos from the accused. Apart from children, many women have also become victims of

the incident.

A senior CID officer said that the two accused who were already arrested are only a part of a major racket.

Police are conducting raids to nab the other culprits. Police are also investigating if anybody related to the Bengali film industry is involved in

the incident.

It has been learnt that the accused have admitted their guilt.

However, police are not ruling out the possibility of some Tollywood personalities being involved in the incident.

The investigators are also investigating if the pornographic videos were being

sent abroad.

It may be mentioned that in last few months the police also busted some racket involved in sleaze racket. Meanwhile, Malda Court on Thursday awarded life conviction to Satya Narayan Singh in connection with an Arms case registered at Malda GRP. The case was investigated by the CID.
