Administrative meeting to be conducted by CM

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold an administrative meeting with ministers and MLAs at Nabanna Sabhaghar on June 3 to take stock of the administrative work in their respective areas.

Senior officials in various departments of the state government are also expected to be present in the meeting. The meeting will be Banerjee's first interaction with ministers and MLAs in the administrative level since the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Unlike previous review meetings at Nabanna, this time the MLAs have also been asked to attend the meeting as per sources in the state Secretariat.

It may be mentioned that Banerjee, after the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was lifted in connection with the Lok Sabha elections, has made several changes in her Cabinet.

Two of the ministers have not been given any portfolio yet. There has already been a rejig in IAS and IPS ranks.

"The Chief Minister is likely to take stock of the work of all the departments. She has often alleged that administrative work has been held up due to the prolonged election process. She would be fixing the action plan to expedite completion of pending projects," a senior official of Nabanna said.

Banerjee has already held two meetings at the party level and outlined an action plan to recover the ground that her party had lost in the Lok

Sabha polls. She went ahead with the organisational readjustments and assigned responsibilities to the newly-inducted MPs as well.

This time, she would hold meetings with the MLAs and ministers which would be an administrative one.
