Adhir Chowdhury's car hit by truck, WBPCC chief unhurt

KOLKATA: State Congress President Adhir Chowdhury had a lucky escape on Sunday when his car was hit by a speeding mini truck at Rejingar in Murshidabad. Though the vehicle of the Berhampore MP was badly damaged by the impact, Chowdhury escaped unhurt. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has enquired about the accident. Gandhi at Raghunathganj. He was accompanied by the driver and two security guards in his SUV. While travelling on National Highway 34, a truck coming from the opposite direction collided with his vehicle. The front portion of the vehicle was badly damaged but Chowdhury and his two security guards escaped unhurt. However, the driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries. Chief
Minister Mamata Banerjee enquired about the health of Chowdhury and instructed Director General of Police Surajit Kar Purakayastha to look into the matter. Police sources said that the driver of the truck was arrested and he has confessed to his crime. He claimed that he was sleepy and had lost control of the truck which resulted in the accident.
