AAEI to observe Road Safety Week from January 17

KOLKATA: Automobile Association of Eastern India (AAEI) will observe Road Safety Week from January 17 to 23 to highlight Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's slogan Safe Drive Save Life.
Two well decorated mobile vans will go round the city with tableaus propagating international accepted slogans and audio messages on road safety. Hoardings will be put up on important road intersections carrying slogans "Safe Drive Save Life," "Save kids life," etc.
On January 19, a rally will be taken out where students from different schools will hold placards containing messages on road safety. This will be followed by a colourful road show on January 20 where important personalities from different walks of life and students will take part. A cycle rally will be organised on January 21. The rally will go through important thoroughfares in the city.
There will be a sit and draw competition where 3,000 students from across the state are expected to participate on the theme "Safe Drive Save Life".
The competition will be held in collaboration with West Bengal Council for Sports and Games. Many physically challenged students are likely to take part in the competition. It will be held at the headquarters of AAEI along with its branch offices. The successful students will be felicitated.
It may be mentioned that AAEI organises training of drivers and owner-drivers through camps throughout the year.
