8 arrested for pickpocketing in buses

New Delhi: Eight men who took advantage of heavy rush in buses, metros and shared autos were arrested from South East Delhi on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that Dalip is the kingpin of this gang and his main associate one Shahid has been involved in 14 cases. Both these accused persons roped in other budding criminals of their area and formulated an organized gang to pick-pocket and steal the mobile phones of the public persons traveling in the bus. The gang mainly targeted buses plying between Badarpur to Anand Vihar and Kalkaji to Badarpur.
"The gang operates in a very professional manner and they keep 2 bikes with them during the commission of the offense. One bike remains ahead of the targeted bus and keeps a watch on any unexpected hindrance," police said.
