58-yr-old state govt employee found dead inside home

The partly decomposed body of a 58-year-old man, who was a state government employee, was found in his house on Sunday morning.

Police said the deceased, Subodh Acharjee, was all alone in his house since Tuesday as his wife and son had gone to a relative's house.

A police officer said that local people got foul smell coming from the house and informed the police. Policemen from Parnasree police station went to the spot and found the house locked from inside.

All the windows of the one storeyed house at Rabindranagar in Parnasree were closed. The police broke open the door and found Acharjee's body lying in the dining room. The door of the refrigerator was open and all the lights were on.

Police sent the body for an autopsy and informed his wife Krishna Acharjee. The police will talk to his wife to get more details.

Some of their relatives stay in the same area. They told the police that they had seen Subodh for the last time on Thursday. He was a state government employee and was posted at Writers' Building.

Though the police are yet to ascertain the exact cause behind the death, but they suspect that he fell on the floor after feeling sick and died as there was no one in the house to help the person.
