3 B'deshis held with ammunition

Darjeeling: Three Bangladeshi citizens were arrested by Uttar Dinajpur police along with arms and live ammunition. They were remanded to police custody by the Islampur court. The three had sneaked in from Bangladesh and were putting up at Jharbari. Based on a tip-off, the cops raided the area and arrested the trio on Friday night. A semi-automatic revolver was recovered along with five rounds of live ammunition.

Abul Hossain, Robiul and Mohammad Liton are residents of Munnatoli in Thakurgaon district of Bangladesh. "We have begun a probe. We are trying to find out how they sneaked in and what is their purpose. They could be cattle smugglers also," stated Sachin Makkar, Islampur SP.
