2 truck drivers charred to death after head-on collision

Kolkata: Two truck drivers were charred to death after the vehicles they were driving collided head-on and caught fire.
The accident took place on National Highway 60 near Hevir More in Bankura late on Tuesday night. Police said a truck that was carrying stone chips collided with the other that was carrying cement bags. The locals told the police that due to the intensity of the accident, both the vehicles caught fire moments after the collision. This incident triggered tension in the area and there was traffic congestion on National Highway 60 for a while. A helper of one of the trucks was also injured in the incident and was rushed to Bankura Sammelani Medical College and Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. After being informed, the police and fire brigade officials rushed to the spot. Two fire tenders swung into action to douse the flames. The police have recovered both the trucks that have been completely gutted. A probe has been initiated. MPOST
