2 packets of ganja, mobile phone seized from warder

Kolkata: A mobile phone and two packets of ganja was recovered from the possession of a warder at Alipore Central Correctional Home (ACCH).
The warder was suspended and a departmental enquiry has been initiated by the state Correctional Administration department.
The recovery was made by the guards at the entry gate of ACCH during checking. The consignment of ganja as well as the mobile phone was found hidden under the socks while the warder was entering inside the prison premises with the banned articles.
He was immediately taken to the top authorities of the Correctional Home and naturally he could not provide any satisfactory answer.
The accused Narayan Chandra Bhuiyan has been working with the department of Correctional
Administration for more than 20 years.
"We have suspended him with immediate effect and a departmental enquiry has been started. If he is found guilty then strong action will be taken," a senior official of the Correctional Administration department said. The authorities have every reasons to believe that the consignment was meant for an inmate of ACCH.
It was only on January 14 when three Bangladeshi prisoners Faruq Hawladar, Emon Chowdhury and Firod Seikh Rana allegedly escaped from ACCH by drugging prison guards and other inmates in their own cell.
The state Correctional Administration department suspended three jail guards for "dereliction of duty".
The trio had used tranquilisers in sweets to drug their fellow inmates and some guards who were supposed to look after the security.
They had used shawls and a bamboo stick to escape.
