2 motor vehicles inspectorate cadres promoted

Kolkata: For the first time in the history of the state Transport administration, two officers from motor vehicles inspectorate cadre have been promoted to the rank of deputy director.
Tamal Das and Jayanta Das have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Director. According to a senior official of the state Transport department this is the first time in the history of the transport administration in the newly created transport directorate. It may be mentioned that the step taken to promote the two officials to deputy director rank will establish a staircase pattern hierarchy between the government and field functionaries.
According to officials of the state Transport department, the step was essential as such initiatives always help in better functioning of the entire administration and this comes at the time when the task of the state Transport department is increasing manifold with steps taken to introduce a modern transport system. The state Transport department has taken several steps including introducing a cell phone app using which real time location of buses have become possible. Initially state-run buses were brought into the system and gradually real time location of private buses can also be identified using the same Pathadisha app. Moreover, the state transport department has taken steps in ensuring proper bus connectivity between tourist destinations as well and the administration leave no stone unturned to make a project successful.
