2 incidents of fire reported in city buildings

Kolkata: There were two incidents of fire in the city since Saturday late night.
It was in the wee hours when the first incident of fire took place at Bhowanipore.
The fire broke out inside a four-storeyed building. Locals saw smoke billowing out of the building and informed the state Fire and Ememergency Services department.
Two fire tenders were pressed into service and the fire fighters took around an hour to extinguish the flames. It was around 4 am when the fire fighters managed to bring the situation under control.
Though the exact cause behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, the officers of the state Fire and Emergency Services department suspect that an electric shot circuit could be the cause. However, no one was injured. The second incident of fire took place at Garden Reach where a fire broke out on the first floor of a four storeyed building.
Four fire tenders were pressed into service to extinguish the flames. Some locals first saw the smoke and dialed 100. Police passed the information to the state Fire and Emergency Services department. The fire fighters reached the spot as early as possible and initiated the work to douse the flames.
According to an officer of the state Fire and Emeregency Services department, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The total extent of damage is also yet to be ascertained. No one was inside the building when the fire broke out.
