16-yr-old boy found dead

Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a 16-year-old boy whose body was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside a hotel where he used to work as a room boy. Police said that the victim Bulan Roy had been working at a hotel situated near Jalpaiguri bazaar. On Tuesday morning some of the staff members found that his room was locked from inside. The victim did not open the door despite repeated knocks on the door. The staff members informed the matter to the police who reached the spot and broke open the door to find the victim hanging from the ceiling fan of the room. His body was sent for the post-mortem.

According to the preliminary investigation police suspect that the victim was suffering from mental depression due to huge pressure of work. Bulan's paternal uncle who was an old employee of the hotel engaged the victim in the works few months ago. Police are waiting for the post-mortem examination which would throw light on the cause of his death. Police have started a probe in this regard and interrogated some of the staff members of the hotel. Police were also investigating if there was any foul play in the incident.
