Kolkata-Andal-Delhi flight services: State to approach Centre

The state transport department would approach the Centre to start the Kolkata-Andal-Delhi flight service besides capping the airfare between Kolkata and Andal at Rs 2,500. It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had stated the suspension of the Kolkata-Andal-Delhi flight service as an unfortunate decision.

She had said: “Air India did not inform us. They are up to stall everything. Air India is also on the verge of closure.” The country’s first private green airport at Andal would face a major problem if the service is not resumed.

Thus, the state transport department is all set to approach the Centre to initiate the service that was inaugurated in December 2015.
