KMC takes steps to combat dengue in medical colleges

During its inspection of the NRS Medical College and Hospital, a team from Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) detected dengue mosquito larvae in the hospital campus. After this, the health department of the KMC took various steps to combat the situation.

It may be mentioned that KMC had taken an anti-dengue drive before the advent of monsoon as a routine move that KMC performs at around this time of the year. The members of the health department had carried out a rigorous campaign among the people in the city to create awareness. The civic body has also made the people aware of the necessary steps that should be taken to prevent the disease.
According to a senior official of the health department of KMC, inspections would be conducted at all medical colleges and hospitals. It is often observed that under-construction buildings become breeding grounds of dengue larvae.
