Member and Mayor-in-council (Health) Atin Ghosh on Sunday show-caused five health workers at ward number 2 of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) after he found that they had taken leave without authorised by the senior officials.

Ghosh on Sunday paid a visit at ward numbers 1,2,6 to take a stock of the situation. During his visit at a primary health centre at ward number 2 he saw that five health workers were on leave without the proper permission from the higher authorities. Action may be taken against these health workers if any negligence was found on their part. After his visit Ghosh said that the KMC can also provide assistance to the adjoining municipalities like Baranagar, South Dum Dum and others in anti-dengue drive.
