Kirti Nagar mall shopkeepers lodge complaint against owner

A compliant has been filled against Moments Mall in Kirti Nagar by the owners of the showrooms at the mall.
According to the complaint, the owner of Moments Mall has not paid conversion charges to DDA for the past one year, which affects the renewal of the license of restaurants, bar and pub owners at the mall.
It also says that when they had taken showrooms on rent at the mall, the mall owner hadn’t informed them that the mall had been built on industrial land.
Due to the non-payment of conversion charges Delhi Development Authority and the Delhi government are DDA and incurring losses of approximately Rs 5 crore every year. Moments Mall is situated on an industrial land and thus needs to pay conversation charges to DDA, after which the authority issues licenses to restaurants, bars and pub owners.Â
The authorities had issued a notice to the mall to pay the conversion charges by 30 June or else face action.
